About 10 percent of women
(6.1 million) in the United States
have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). One-third of infertility cases are caused by women, one-third by men, and one-third by a mixture of both men and women for unknown reasons.

Take the First Step

Fertility First Steps

Fertility First Steps is a program for women and men who’ve been trying to conceive for at least 6 months. We evaluate possible reasons for infertility with initial diagnostic services, including:

  • consultation with a nurse practitioner fertility specialist

  • testing for both women and men, including evaluation of fallopian tubes and semen analysis

  • referrals to partnering physicians specializing in advanced fertility treatments

All test, labs, and office visits are offered at Planned Parenthood’s discounted rates. If you are uninsured, you may qualify for state funding to cover a portion of the testing.
